ESOL
Duration: 70 hours
Summary
Develop your confidence and skills in the three areas of English language: speaking and listening, reading and writing. This course is made up of a 2 hour session, working on all skills, with the option of an additional 2 hour Steps to Success in ESOL course.
Outcomes
Work on English activities to help you in everyday situations. Gain qualifications that can help improve your job prospects and/or lead on to further learning. You will work in small, friendly groups at your own pace and be offered an individual learning programme that is suited to your needs:
- Unaccredited learning (no exams)
- ESOL Qualification (exams)
- Steps to Success in ESOL
You will take part in a range of activities in small groups or pairs and individual work. You will be expected to attend every week. There will be regular checks to ensure you are progressing. There will be home learning to be done between sessions. Please bring with you a pen, pencil and A4 lined note pad, any other equipment or resources you may require will be discussed on your first session.
Progression
You can progress from this course on to another course, working to further improve your skills, and can continue with us from Pre-Entry Level up to Level 2. If you have achieved Level 2, you can progress onto other courses within our provision or on to Further Education.

Entry requirements
- Aged 19 or over
- Do not have a level 2 qualification in the subject (i.e. GCSE grade A-C equivalent)
