Rhythm and Rhyme

Duration: 10 hours


Summary

This course is designed to give parents/carers the opportunity to experience musical activities with their children and understand how they contribute to communication, language and literacy development. This course takes 8 or 10 hours to complete (4 or 5 sessions of 2 hours).


Outcomes

  • Understand the importance of rhythm and rhyme in developing a child’s language and pre-reading skills
  • Understand how parents/carers can support a child’s learning through play
  • Discuss experiences with other parents
  • Develop your relationship with your child
