Follow-On Maths

Duration: 18 hours


Summary

This course is for parents/carers who have completed the ‘Step Ahead in Maths’ course and who want to continue their learning and gain a Functional Skills qualification in Maths.


Outcomes

  • Improve your mathematical skills
  • Feel more confident with everyday tasks involving maths
  • Gain a Functional Skills qualification at an appropriate level covering three central themes: ‘number’, ‘measure’ and ‘handling data’
  • This course runs over a period of 12 or 18 hours

Progression

You may be interested in a ‘Step Ahead in English’ course, or progress through Functional Skills up to Level 2. We provide a wide range of courses that you can progress on to, to further develop your skills. These include a variety of vocational and employability qualifications to help prepare you for work: computer courses, family learning and health and wellbeing programmes.

Entry requirements

  • Are a parent, carer or grandparent aged 16 or over who does not already hold a Level 2 qualification in Maths (i.e. GCSE grade A-C, CSE grade 1)
