Summary

This course will give you a broad introduction to working in the Childcare Sector, equipping you with knowledge and skills specific to this sector. This course is designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately to work in childcare. You will build a portfolio to evidence your learning and achievement.

"The level 1 childcare is a good introduction to working in the childcare sector giving you an idea of the variety of the different settings you could work in and job roles you could choose from. You will learn some basic health and safety principles to follow when looking after children and why it is important to support them in a variety of ways. You will have the opportunity to express your own creativity within the tasks as you complete them. Learners on the level 1 course will be given the opportunity to move on to the level 2 childcare course. As the tutor for childcare, I have worked in and around the industry since my first work experience in a Pre-school at age 15, working up to owning and running my own Pre-school at age 22, before moving into teaching childcare in my late 20’s.
