Summary
A career in logistics can be extremely rewarding because it covers a whole range of different jobs. It involves everything from driving and delivery to positions in IT, accounting, scheduling, warehousing and management. On this course you will expand your knowledge of the logistics sector to support progression to employment, to an apprenticeship or to further study at a higher level. There are two main parts to this course: route planning; the importance of route planning, benefits of route planning and technologies used in route planning in the smooth running of a business.
Outcomes
Through a range of activities, research tasks and practical work you will:
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the different types of jobs within the logistics sector
- Develop the ability to plan an effective and efficient delivery route using information obtained from internal colleagues and the receiver of the goods
- Explore what reverse logistics means
- Consider government law in relation to logistics
- Complete a portfolio to evidence progress and achievement

Following the successful completion of the course you can:
- Apply for jobs within logistics
- Apply for an apprenticeship
- Further study at a higher level
