Summary

The course aims to provide parent/carers with an introduction to IT /Computing and its current use in schools.


Outcomes

You will learn to:

  • Understand the basics of word processing and desk top publishing skills
  • Understand how computing is taught in schools to support children’s learning
  • Research information on the internet and present it appropriately
  • Sample spreadsheet and presentation software, as appropriate
  • Understand the basics of programming and control technology
  • You will also carry out set tasks and engage in positive discussion with your child during joint sessions

We provide a wide range of courses that you can progress on to, including an accredited ‘Follow-On ICT’ course.
