Summary
This 6-10 hour course is for parents/carers and grandparents who are interested in looking at ways to help children enjoy reading. You will be looking at strategies to support children’s reading development and exploring some of the difficulties children may have with learning to read.
Outcomes
- Learn about the use of the particular phonics scheme used in the setting
- Explore different strategies that can be used at home to support children’s reading development
- Identify issues that may delay reading development
- Be involved in hands on activities and discussions with other participants
