Summary
This course prepares parent helpers to offer effective support in the classroom and gives participants an opportunity to gain a qualification.
Outcomes
- Learn about use of positive language/listening skills in the classroom
- Provide support to the staff in the classroom
- Give examples of children’s social/emotional, physical and intellectual development
- Make and evaluate a learning aid for a child for use in the classroom
Progression
- Computers for Beginners
- Step Ahead in English or IT or maths in a school setting to provide in depth curriculum knowledge
- Community English or maths courses to gain a functional skills qualification

- You can join this course if you are a parent, grandparent or carer and can secure a voluntary weekly placement in the classroom
