Volunteers’ Week
What better way to celebrate Volunteers’ Week (3rd to 9th June 2024) than to listen to what one of our very volunteers has to say…
“Realise Futures have been fantastic for meeting new people and giving back to the community. Having the opportunity to volunteer for Realise Futures helped me get back on my feet and get my life back on track. Meeting many unique and fantastic individuals along the way has increased my confidence and encouraged me to pursuit my dream of studying psychology at university.
After volunteering for a period of time I was offered a position to work with Realise Futures and I am now a part time employee running the Shuffle Café gaming group in Bury St. Edmunds. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for the support Realise Futures offered me over my time in Bury St. Edmunds. My future is looking bright, and I am excited to keep learning and developing as time goes on.
The teachers training course helped me build skills to support others in learning and developing new skills in a classroom environment. It encouraged me to volunteer for roles that allowed me to support individuals learning. I has also opened me up for other potential career opportunities such as teaching/teaching assistant.”
